About HOL

Welcome from

Dr Caroline Kwok, Founder, President

Welcome to House of Learning

For over two decades, House of Learning has been dedicated to serving underprivileged communities in Hong Kong and China. As a charity organization founded on compassion, education, and empowerment, our mission is to bring hope and opportunity to those who need it most.

We believe that education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of underachievement. Through community outreach, educational support, and learning initiatives, we strive to uplift our rising generation, helping them build brighter futures.

In this age of neuroscience and growing understanding of the human mind, we believe that the ability to learn, grow, and expand one’s thinking is a gift freely available to all. The power of the mind is one of the greatest natural resources we share as human beings. By reaching out to the underprivileged, we are not only offering material support— we are opening doors to mental growth, creativity, and the realization of their full potential.

We are deeply grateful to our supporters, donors, and volunteers—without their generosity, dedication, and belief in our mission, none of this would have been possible. They are the heart of our work, and we thank them for standing with us all these years.

At House of Learning, we also believe in the transformative power of volunteerism. Service does not only change communities—it changes lives. Many of our volunteers come to serve with the hope of giving back, but leave with a deeper understanding of compassion, purpose, and human connection. They discover the joy of lifting others and often find their own perspectives and priorities beautifully reshaped.

In these times of trouble and unrest—locally and globally—volunteerism also stands as a quiet, but powerful, force for peace. It brings people together across cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs, reminding us of ourshared humanity. Acts of service sow understanding, bridge divides, and offer healing in a world that longs for unity.

Over the years, we’ve seen children once weighed down by hardship grow into confident, curious learners. We’ve watched them develop a love for knowledge, discover hidden talents, and begin to dream about futures they once thought unreachable. These moments are powerful reminders of why our work matters.

These stories inspire us to continue pushing forward, even in the face of challenges.

Our work is grounded in partnership. We collaborate closely with local communities, educators, and organizations to ensure that our efforts are culturally sensitive, sustainable, and impactful. Listening, learning, and growing together are at the core of everything we do.

As you explore our website, we invite you to join us—whether through volunteering, donating, or simply sharing our mission with others. Together, we can plant seeds of hope, nurture dreams, and build a future where every individual, no matter their circumstances, has the chance to thrive.

Welcoming Message
It is with great pleasure that we introduce House of Learning (HOL), a non-profit charitable organization established in 1988 by Dr. Caroline Kwok, a passionate educator and a pioneer in the field of neuro-education. Our mission is to empower underachieved and underprivileged children by offering research-based, effective programs and training that enable them to thrive and become productive members of society.

At the heart of HOL is a dedicated core committee of professionals. While our committee members come from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, we are united by a shared commitment to serving our community and making a meaningful difference.

Since our inception, HOL has undertaken numerous charitable and training initiatives in both Hong Kong and China. These projects have been made possible through the generosity of corporations, private donors, and the tireless efforts of countless volunteers. We are deeply grateful for the support we have received, which has allowed us to positively impact the lives of so many.

However, our work is far from over. We continue to seek volunteers and funding to expand our reach and support even more individuals in need. If you are interested in joining our cause, whether as a donor or a volunteer, we would love to hear from you.

Thank you for visiting our website. We encourage you to explore our other pages to learn more about our organization, our committee members, and the projects we undertake. Together, we can build a brighter future for those who need it most. We hope you will join us in our mission soon.
Mission and Goal
Our mission is to promote knowledge of the human brain and its role in developing human potential. Through organized activities and services, we help underachieved or underprivileged children and youth obtain basic life necessities and develop their confidence and abilities.
House of Learning was established in 1998 and has been committed to implementing various education programs for the lest fortunate children in local and mainland China to change their destiny with knowledge.

Just like our slogan: "
Give the best to the most important people"! It means providing the best learning resources to our children, the next generation of society! We organize a series of programs for children from low-income families in Hong Kong Activities such as: brain enrichment classes (workshops to inspire brain potential), learning camps, charity sales, and fundraising social service activities, etc.

In the Mainland, we target children in remote rural areas, and have set up English learning corners in schools and organized volunteer exchange groups, allowing volunteers from Hong Kong and Mainland China to serve the children, communicate with each other, and experience life together; we will also assist remote rural areas to Rebuild old schools, add multiple intelligence learning elements and hold regular exchange groups so that schools can receive continuous support.

We organize fundraising charity concerts to convey the message of love. In addition to raising more funds for the organization, it also gives children the opportunity and the platform to display their talents and give back to the society through singing and dancing.

We often cooperate with the business community to nominate conscientious organizations to show care and enhance their positive charity image.
